About Valley Yoga in Chesterfield
To create a yoga community in West St. Louis County that fosters mindfulness, strength, and serenity among its students and the people whose lives they touch. We continuously strive to provide our students and our St. Louis community:
Invitation: An open invitation to practice with us, regardless of age, yoga experience, physical limitations, or ability to pay. We will find a way for you to join us.
Connection: A warm welcome to everyone who visits us, whether in person, online, or by phone. We are very glad you are here with us!
Community: We want to know you as an individual, to greet you by name, and to learn more about you and your practice, so that we can join you on your individual yoga journey.
Safety: Each of our hand selected instructors possesses a 200-hour RYT (Registered Yoga Teacher) certification or a 500-hour RYT certification to ensure student safety while practicing physical postures, and our sacred yoga space provides a safe place for inquiry and discovery.
Kelley Bauer is a 200-hour instructor currently obtaining her 500-hour certification through Urban Breath Yoga. Kelley has taught a range of clients with diverse abilities for over 5 years in gyms, corporate settings, and studios. Yoga found Kelley when she was 12, while she was experiencing back pain from scoliosis. Yoga, not surgery, was her treatment. Yoga has also challenged her to seek comfort in any uncomfortable situation, and she hopes to share these same gifts with you. Kelley strives to make her classes unique with creative sequencing. She offers a balanced yoga practice combining elements of strength and relaxation. Kelley teaches upbeat, dynamic flows along with passive stretching poses. Kelley believes yoga is about self-discovery and encourages play within your practice. Other than yoga, Kelley loves dancing, rock climbing and soaking up the sun.
Valley Yoga was founded by Jennifer Hojnacki in 2011. After 8 years of ownership, she transferred ownership to Kelley in 2019. Jennifer's original intention with Valley was to share the incredible gift that yoga has been in her life with other people who could benefit as she has. We hope to continue with this intention by guiding each student closer to discovering their own practice.
Meet Valley Yoga
We love talking with new students! We know how easy it is to be intimidated by the image we all have of all the "expert" yogis who may be in the class with us when we're first starting out. This is a very common misconception. There's no competition or comparison in yoga. There's only you and your practice. Everyone's body is different, everyone's reason for being on the mat is different, and everyone's in a different stage of their journey. Nevertheless, every student starts their journey with just one step. We teach a new student almost every day, and we're honored when they choose to take their first step with us.
